Turn use cases into working prototypes, and prototypes into a plan your leaders can act on
BizHacks are hands-on, time-boxed workshops and hackathons where your teams build real solutions with Amazon Quick. Tactical Edge facilitates, AWS supports, and your people build on their own work, so they leave with agents running instead of a slide deck.

Learn Amazon Quick by Building With It
Each session turns your team's use cases into working prototypes, and those prototypes into a clear plan for what to roll out next.
What is a BizHack?
A focused, facilitated session where your line-of-business users build real applications and agents on Amazon Quick, guided by Tactical Edge facilitators and supported by AWS.
Who is it for?
Business teams that want to put Amazon Quick to work on their daily tasks, and leaders who want to see what it can do on their own data before committing to a rollout.
Why does it work?
People learn by building. Participants leave with working prototypes and clear next steps, and leaders get a concrete view of where Quick fits.
Three BizHack Formats
Start broad to build momentum across a team, go deep on the workflows you plan to scale, or run a hackathon that ends with executives choosing what to build next.
Standard BizHack
An end-user productivity workshop. Every participant completes five guided builds on their own email, calendar, and chat, then builds something of their own.
- Length
- About 4 hours, virtual or in person
- Group
- About 20 to 50 people in teams of 3 to 5
- Before the session
- Quick provisioned with email, calendar, and collaboration connectors
- Best for
- Proving the value of Quick and enabling a broad team
Custom BizHack
A focused workshop built around two or three of your own use cases, using your actual connectors and live data. Narrow scope, high impact.
- Length
- 1 to 2 days, virtual or in person
- Scope
- 2 to 3 use cases and 2 to 3 connectors
- Before the session
- Quick fully set up with the relevant connectors
- Best for
- Validating specific workflows before scaling Quick
Shark Tank BizHack
Business teams build working prototypes on Amazon Quick, then pitch them to an executive panel that selects the strongest solutions to take forward.
- Length
- 1 or 2 days with an executive sponsor
- Group
- 8 to 12 business stakeholders in teams of 3 to 5
- Before the session
- Use cases defined, data prepared, and accounts set up
- Best for
- Choosing which AI solutions to fund and build next
Five Guided Builds on Your Own Data
Every participant builds the same five agents on their own email, calendar, and chat. We can re-theme the exercises for your industry, such as Deal Prep for a sales team, while the capabilities stay the same.
Monday Briefing
A scheduled agent delivers a personalized weekly briefing from your email, calendar, and collaboration tools.
Meeting Prep
A reusable agent pulls context from email and collaboration tools for any upcoming meeting.
Intelligence Scout
A scheduled agent monitors the web for industry, competitive, or market news.
Package It
Turns research into a polished one-pager, slide deck, or email.
Build an App
Turns a plain-English description into a working web app.

A Line-of-Business Hackathon That Ends in a Decision
Teams of 3 to 5 build working prototypes on Amazon Quick, back each one with a business case, and pitch to your executives. Leaders leave knowing which two or three solutions are worth building.
Before the event
Challenge discovery and data prep
Define the challenge and use cases, enable participants on Quick, and set up accounts and data sources.
Day 1
Build
Form teams, map the workflow, set success metrics, and build prototypes with Chat Agents, Spaces, Flows, and Quick Automate.
Day 2
Shark Tank
Teams finish their prototypes and business cases, then demo and pitch to an executive panel.
30 to 90 days after
Production rollout
Tactical Edge works with your team and AWS account team to move the winning solutions toward production.
How pitches are judged
Your executive sponsor, business leaders, and AWS account team representatives score each pitch on three questions.
- Desirability
- Do the people who do this work want it, and does it solve a real problem for them?
- Viability
- Does the business case hold up on KPIs, ROI, and the cost of change?
- Feasibility
- Can it run on your data, systems, and controls with a realistic path to production?
Sample hackathon use cases
Teams bring a real challenge from their own function. Common starting points:
Marketing
Campaign dashboards, sentiment analysis
Finance
Automated reporting, forecasting agents
Supply chain
Inventory optimization, logistics automation
Sales
Pipeline intelligence, proposal generation
HR
Resume screening, onboarding workflows
Operations
Process documentation, performance monitoring
How We Run Every BizHack
Most of the work happens before the session, so the time your team spends together goes to building.
Scope
Pick the format, the participants, and the work they will build on. For Custom and Shark Tank BizHacks, agree on the challenge and use cases.
Prepare
Confirm Amazon Quick access, connectors, and permissions with your administrators and a few pilot users, so the session starts with building.
Build
Facilitators guide participants through hands-on builds. Everyone works on their own data and leaves with something running.
Next steps
Review what was built, choose the workflows worth piloting, and agree on owners and a path to production.
Who Should Be in the Room
The best sessions bring together the people who do the work, the leaders who decide what moves forward, and the people who control access to the data.
Business users
Process owners from marketing, finance, supply chain, sales, HR, and operations. They build for their own work.
Leaders
Director and VP sponsors with budget authority. They set the challenge and decide which solutions move forward.
Builders and IT
IT partners, data analysts, and administrators. They approve connectors and help teams build on the right data.

Frequently Asked Questions
A BizHack is a facilitated, time-boxed workshop or hackathon where your business users build working AI agents and applications in Amazon Quick using their own work. Tactical Edge facilitators run the session with support from your AWS account team, so participants leave with prototypes rather than slides.
Choose the Standard BizHack to get a broad group productive with Amazon Quick in half a day. Choose the Custom BizHack to validate two or three specific workflows on your own connectors and live data. Choose the Shark Tank BizHack when leaders want teams to compete with working prototypes and business cases, and then pick the solutions worth taking to production.
It is a 1 or 2 day hackathon for 8 to 12 business stakeholders with an executive sponsor. Teams of 3 to 5 build prototypes on Amazon Quick, prepare a business case covering the problem, solution, KPIs, ROI, and change management, and pitch to a panel of executives. Judges score each pitch on desirability, viability, and feasibility and select the two or three highest-value solutions to move forward.
For a Standard BizHack, Amazon Quick is provisioned for every participant with email, calendar, and collaboration connectors authorized and tested with a few pilot users about a week ahead. Custom and Shark Tank BizHacks also need the data sources and connectors for the selected use cases. Tactical Edge works with your administrators so nobody spends session time on setup.
Participants build in your own Amazon Quick environment, using the connectors and permissions your administrators approve. We scope the use cases and data sources with you before the session so nothing is connected that your team has not agreed to.
A Standard BizHack typically suits about 20 to 50 participants working in groups of 3 to 5. A Shark Tank BizHack is designed for 8 to 12 business stakeholders. Standard and Custom BizHacks can run virtually or in person.
The public Amazon Quick workshop series teaches the product in a shared lab environment with attendees from many companies. A BizHack is private to your organization, runs in your own Quick environment, and focuses on your team's real work and use cases.
